Casa Lamat

We loved the vibe of Casa Lamat, very tranquil in nature, perfect for relaxation. Excellent location on on the Laguna. Xavi and the rest of the staff are excellent hosts.

the yoga session in the morning which prevents you from going into the water as the teacher asks you to leave not to disturb the others. it’s a pity…

a stunningly beautiful location, the garden path to the water is exceptional and picked daily for the well prepared breakfast!

The design of the hotel and the territory was very nice.

There was no hot water in our room (maybe it’s part of the eco-hotel concept, but I would prefer the opportunity to wash my hair with hot water). The bungalows are not sound-proof to say the least, so I had to listen to music and dog barking in the evening. When we arrived at the hotel around 5 pm, the reception was closed and the owners gone, we were lucky to meet the owner’s friend who took us to our bungalow. And the next day I practically had to chase the owner to pay for our stay. The tea in the morning was cold. The wi-fi didn’t work.

The location over the Bacalar lagoon it’s amazing - wake up early to see the sun rising as it’s worth the effort.

Very expensive against the service offered: cabanas are not well kept, lots of areas have the mosquito net broken. We avoided eating there as we have been charged 150 pesos for a very little tortilla of ham and cheese the first night, when we have asked what was available to eat as quite late without looking at the menu. If you want a quiet stay avoid the cabana nearby the lagoon as family with kids and speakers with music make much noise, it’s hard to hear the sound of nature.
