Hostalito El Greco

The best place/people we met in Nicaragua!! That was our last night before taking the plane back home but it was the most welcoming.

Great for the price. Comfortable and clean.

No hot water

They do not serve breakfast at the Lodge, nevertheless they have a well-equipped kitchen in case you want to prepare your own.

There was no jacuzzi or swimming pool at the property.

Hot water, good a/c, speedy wifi. Communal kitchen was a new one for us, but actually worked. Space in the fridge, clean cookware and dishes, nice dining area. Every morning a large pot of coffee was put out for all the guests. Parking under a roof kept the car clean. Safe place. For the little we paid, great value!

Lumpy pillows, old mattresses, polyester towels, no hangers or hanging space.

Really nice staff and patio. Really good value.

El Greco was a great stopover after we had landed at nearby Liberia airport. It is simple and rustic with few facilities, but has a charm all of its own. There is covered secure parking and the whole hostel feels very safe. The town has several restaurants and we ate in the Soda La Fuego recommended by the hostel - it did not disappoint! El Greco offers great value provided your expectations are calibrated accordingly.

It is simple and rustic and you will likely find access easiest with a car. Although we were advised there would be no hot water, there seemed to be a device on the shower head which did produce warm water!
