Altes Zollhaus am Klinikum

It was al very nice. Great, helpfull staff, clean room, good facilities.

The window in the front was close to an lightpost; it was difficult to sleep because of the lights. I would have liked better blinds, but other than that; the overall experience was very, very good.

On the main road and staff not very welcoming? Followed the instruction on the paper left on the room and called the number given and had someone on the other end saying she will be with in a minute and of course never did see her!? Also, instruction stated to contact them by email if we wanted breakfast which I did as per the instruction however they never responded and in fact we did not see anyone even when we left.

After the challenges of motorway roadworks from Holland, Altes Zollhaus was a little oasis of calm. Our room had its own outside sitting area overlooking a lovely garden and nature reserve beyond. The location is perfect for visiting Lubeck by bus, with a bus stop outside that runs on Sundays too. The owners seemed to have thought of everything including location of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The small kitchenette had microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. We hadn’t realised that food shops don’t open on Sundays so our plans for diy food preparation were slightly thwarted on the first night. The owner was really kind and helpful and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay.

I think rustic would sum up the property. It has everything and is very clean and quiet but it’s not ultra smart.

Beautifully located, very friendly and supportive owner, relaxing setup with a private feel.

Staff was friendly and I could check in after midnight.

The mattress was not comfortable and too old.
