Fresh Wave Mirissa - Beach Front

The beach it’s located on is literally the only highlight of the property.

My friend and i had THE most unpleasant experience at fresh wave. Day 1 we asked for a simple adapter and even that wasn’t handed over to us till the last day. The staff lacks basic hospitality. Our bathroom vent was literally open allowing SO many mosquitoes and you can literally peep inside. When we raised an issue regarding this their solution was to cover it with a makeshift newspaper. The breakfast was below average. As a vegetarian i accidentally almost ate fish because there was no tag mentions of the food. As two female travellers we obviously went to see the night life and would arrive late only to find the shutter of the resort closed. It’s extremely scary for 2 women visiting an unknown country. We even raised a concern about this only for it to happen to us again. We had to walk ALL ALONE and find our way to the hostel from the beach. The manager there is extremely ill mannered and so is the female staff. One of the female staff was also allegedly taking a video of us and as soon as we mentioned women’s safety she laughed and when we caught her she put her phone down. We also decided to speak to the owner regarding this and his solution was to give a 5% off on our stay and free breakfast. The owner did not take our concerns seriously at all and that’s when we realised no wonder the staff is like this. I do NOT recommend this place at all, you will find better (and much much cheaper options). One of the staff tried to charge us 500 LKR for a towel when he knew we were staying there. When we raised this concern as well, their solution was “we will pay you back the 500 LKR” Horrible horrible experience.

Its a run down property with basic amenities missing. Breakfast is awful. Even hot breakfast is served COLD!

Location is good on the beach, staff are very good.

My room was on ground floor next the partway from Beach/restaurant. So it was very noisy . Could not sleep till well past midnight. The restaurant played some recorded music, but a very poor system. They could improve it

Struttura carina, tuttavia meriterebbe di lavori di ammodernamento per quel che concerne soprattutto i bagni. Si trova di fronte alla spiaggia, dove la sera si può mangiare in riva al mare a prezzi modici. Il personale è gentile e disponibile, anche se non molto espansivo. La camera è pulita, con balcone, letti abbastanza comodi. Nelle immediate vicinanze c'è una via molto trafficata, con numerosi negozi, dove si può fare shopping. Nella struttura si può pagare solo in contati, tenetelo a mente.
