Gasthof Zur Traube

Wir hatten eine geräumige Wohnung mit Küche, grossem Esstisch, 5 Betten (brauchten nur 2). Küche voll ausgestattet (nicht gebraucht). Frühstück kann man bequem in der Bäckerei nebenan geniessen. Bequeme Betten. Bei geschlossenen Fenstern ist es ruhig in der Wohnung.

Da im obersten Stock eines denkmalgeschützten Riegelbaus, wird es im Sommer sehr warm in der Wohnung. Wir hatten Glück, dass es nachts draussen abkühlte und öffneten die Fenster. Wobei dann der Strassenlärm sehr gut zu hören ist, da das Haus an einer Hauptstrasse/Kreuzung liegt.

It was a perfect stay in a home like atmospheir. High ceiling spacious app, with kitchen/utensils, with elevator, in nice surroundings and in very proximity of town Arbon with nice promenade and museum(s).

Some equipment need repair/replacement (e.g. freeze compartment in the fridge, etc.) As this is nice and popular mexican restaurant downstairs - you are to be prepared for the music till 24:00 (not very loud though)

The room was very big. We only stayed one night but four people staying for longer It had its own kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable. The property itself is beautiful.

Nothing. However, this is something that you couldn’t say we didn’t like but we were kind of surprised that it is actually a Mexican restaurant. This is not totally obvious from the description on Booking.com. We ate there and the food was okay. Just be aware that it is in Switzerland which means eating out in any restaurant is very expensive.

Sufficient number of towels !

Staying at this hotel was honestly one of the worst experiences for me and my family. We couldn’t sleep because of the church bell that rings every 15 minutes in the evening, which made our sleep extremely disrupted — I was literally waking up every hour. On top of that, the noise from the cars outside was very loud and disturbing. The pillows were uncomfortable. The hotel staff were not helpful at all. Hotels are supposed to offer an enjoyable experience, but the staff here didn’t treat us like guests having an experience. They didn’t even ask if we enjoyed our stay or if we were comfortable. Their only concern was how much we would pay because we exceeded the checkout time, even though I had informed them at check-in that I might need a little extra time due to traveling with family. You can't treat a family the same way you treat a solo traveler, but they didn’t understand that at all. Exactly 10 minutes after the checkout time, a staff member approached me just to say I’d have to pay for the delay! If I were in the staff’s position, I would’ve focused first and foremost on whether the guest enjoyed their stay, and I would’ve offered at least 15 minutes of flexibility during checkout — even if it wasn’t requested. So for me, I will never stay at this hotel again — not even if they offered it for free, or even if they paid me to stay there. I absolutely do not recommend it. The only two positive things about this hotel: Sufficient number of towels Spacious enough for a family of 5 But in terms of comfort — it’s below zero.
