Hotel G R Residency GOLDEN TEMPLE JUST 2 mins WALKING DISTANCE FROM HOTEL

Location is fabulous, 3 minutes walk from Golden Temple. The owner is friendly and helpful. Rooms were big and clean. Great value for money. Lots of shops nearby.

Beds are a little hard.

Good price. Clean and very close to Golden Temple. Bottled water available in the lobby. Staff and owner are very friendly and we’re every helpful when we required assistance.

Originally booked 2 rooms which were cancelled by the owner because I refused to put a deposit down by transferring him the money directly. There is no option of paying on booking.com which just sketched me out and I didn’t have a way of transferring money in India. I was moved to a family room instead. This room did not have enough closet space. At one point there was a foul smell coming from the bathroom to the point where you could not enter the bathroom without throwing up. When I mentioned that to the owner, the response I got was “that has never happened before”. They suppress the sewer stink by just throwing chemicals down the drain so the using the bathroom wasn’t very pleasant.
