Hotel Rung Phangan

4 small beds instead of 1 large bed water on the floor old hotel, if we can call this an hotel too expensive for value no A/C

the location was good for us. Good if you want to be mobile and explore the island with a scooter, because its located kind of central to the main roads that connect the south with the both parts of the north and not far from Haad Rin. Bad if you don't want to do that, because there is also no beach or nightlife close by. Rung is a very nice guy and helpfull. The room basically offers what you need: wlan, a okay bathroom, a climate system and a comfortable bed and some room to spread out your things.

The Hotel definitly needs some modernisations and at least small investments in the stuff for the guests like: new towels, new bed sheets and plankets/covers. Also (at least ours) bathrooms should definitly be more deep cleaned, because the humidity definitly left its marks over the many years this hotel is old (small mold spots on tile gaps), and because there were uncarfully cleaned spots where shower geel sprinkles were still visible or the mirror was still dirty. Like mentioned: Rung is extremly nice and helpfull (!). But that can't be said about the rest of staff that was present: no one was really able to comunicate in english, either not at all and not willing to help, or only willing to help and not able to communicate verbally. Overall the price price performance ratio for this hotel is very bad. 40 € per night is way to much. You would get a 3x higher standard in Europe considering the location and the sort of rooms they offer for this price. Should be maybe somwhere around 20 € per night. Even for Koh Phangan where hotel prices seem to be a bit higher recently.

The staff was great, changed the room as soon as it became available.

Internet was poor, video calls you can forgotten.
