Piccolo Hotel San Valentino

Piccolo Hotel San Valentino is set on top of a hill in the middle of the fairytale Val d'Orcia. Among cypress trees, olive groves and crete senesi. The Abbey of San Oliveto Maggiore is about a kilometre away. The hotel has a restaurant, but it closes in the evening, so it's completely quiet at night - the nearest village is several kilometres away. For breakfast we got everything we wanted: there was sheep's cheese, all sorts of spreads, yoghurts, prosciutto if you wanted it and several types of pastries. The room was not large but comfortable, the wi-fi worked, there are mosquito nets on the windows - although there are not many around the hotel, and the room is air-conditioned. We were able to visit a classical music festival in nearby Asciano. And of course all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to help.

I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything that bothered me.

It is a very nice secluded property that gives you a sense of living in Tuscany. We enjoyed our stay, breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff.

No area to relax in outside the bedroom. Bedroom was very small. 4 or 5 Cats hanging around in the outdoor dining spaces. Air con didn’t really cool the room. Map of the local area would have been useful.

A beautiful building located in a beautiful and quiet area of ​​Tuscany. The hotel restaurant is excellent.

The room we got was dirty and not well maintained with a heavy smell of mold, without mosquito nets on the windows and an air conditioner that did not work on cooling despite the hotel's promise to take care of the problem. Poor breakfast, Very disappointing.

Location was perfect after hectic Florence &, Venice, & Rome. Quiet, peaceful, & only a stone's throw from the Abbey. The on-site restaurant had wonderful food, & many choices for breakfast. And we loved the cats!
