The toilet to the room was outside in the corridor (this was mentioned), but it was a shared toilet and shower with another room (this was not mentioned when booking) and it created a very unpleasant atmosphere. This facility was easy accesible to anyone at any time, not just the two rooms. The hair dryer was only available in a shared toilet outside the room. Provided small soap had given me an alergic reaction. The room was a bit worn out (black scratches on the walls, holes in the drywall next to the heater), dents in the floor panels next to the shower, black marks on the silicone inside the shower. There was no breakfast voucher, although breakfast was asked for, and the bakery mentioned in the brochure charged regular prices. Towels were only changed once during a 3 night stay The room was not cleaned properly on arrival (water bottle lid and a used napkin) The rooms are not soundproofed and you can hear the neighbours in the other rooms and what is going on in the corridor. It was not mentioned that the stairs in the building are very steep. The lock at the entrance to the building was stuck and not working properly (probably due to a low battery warning) The bill could not be presented after check out, although a prepayment was made before the stay, with the excuse that the payment from booking.com had not yet been received. There is no staff on site, it looks like an online hotel without any facilities.

Central location, spotlessly clean. Very quiet and comfortable. Great communication with host

Nothing - it met our needs well

It was all very clean. Communication was clear and polite. The system for checkin is easy to work with if you arrive at odd hours, so that takes away any pressure of needing to arrive at a certain time.

Bathroom and shower did not have a door or screen to block view from the rest of the room. There was also no seperate light for the toilet, so if you had to go in the middle of the night, you'd need to flash the people sleeping in the nearest bunkbed with bright light.

Very central, surrounded by eateries and very close too 2 bus stations. A bit of noise from the eateries later at night but that soon becomes silence as the eateries close. Small but comfortable. The shower barely works, it's the only downside. Very good and friendly instructions for entry, and no tedious check in. Great spot, will stay again if I'm ever back in Herdecke
