Bear Creek Cabins

Louanne was so welcoming and accommodating, she gave us great advice for Yosemite. Lovely little cabin, quiet and amazing location for Yosemite!

It was a bit difficult to find, as the navigation on our phones didn't really understand the dirt road that was leading to the cabin. We booked this because it was one of the cheaper options close to Yosemite. The room was a bit outdated in my opinion, however, everything worked as it should. The beds were okay. On the outside of the building there were plates on the wall from the authorities saying that this building was disapproved to stay in. We ignored it.

It was still a 45-60 min drive to Yosemite. In the surroundings there was nothing of interest to us. The room could be more pleasurable if it was modernised somewhat in my opinion. I got the impression that the overall hygiene was a little bit below what I am used to (stains on certain areas), but it wan't that bad that I wanted to leave.

Rustic cabin. The room was clean. The host was very friendly, communicative, and helpful. The WiFi did not work for us at first but she reset it immediately. She helped explain when to leave the cabin to enter Yosemite without a reservation. She also helped us locate the nearest grocery store. The room was clean and had enough space for four of us. No AC but there was a cooler, not sure what it was but sounded like a powerful fan, enough for us.

The entrance's driveway was sketchy, definitely not good for a low car, though fortunately we rented a SUV. The exterior of the cabin was old. There were unsafe notices issued by the county about the cabin's condition against fire. This place could be better. I hope the host can work out the problems soon.

I liked the rustic feel of the place

Junky cars in very overgrown grass and weeds. The place looked run down and kind of sketchy.

It looked rustic and close to Yosemite.

Driving through I thought we were in the slums or a car salvage area. No cabin was nice looking, old cars everywhere and dirty some broken down, weeds and grass everywhere. The cabin itself was old, worn, dirty (except the bed sheets were clean). The bathroom had mold and rust spots on mirror. The fridge was filthy with spilled food/drink and hair found. There was a notice I did not see until the night after kids in bed that said it can not be used as a hotel…we cancelled the next night. Smoke from the neighbors grill came through the cooler woke us up it was so bad. Had to open all the windows and doors and turn off ac. Horrible stay.
