I had a problem with Booking.com and Hotel Havelster Hof in terms of communication. I booked a room not knowing that there is no reception desk in the evening. The hotel has a safety box with a code, where they leave keys for guests. The problem was that information about it was to sent my old account, which I did not use when logged-in to booking and completing the booking for hotel Havelser Hof. When I was calling the hotel around 22:30 - there was no one picking up the phone. another number, to a mobile phone - was provided on a sticker at the door. When I was calling it around midnight - also no-one was pick up that phone. All in all - this hotel should be marked as not having a front desk in late evening. They should also have information about the safety-box system for keys on the profile, which they do not have. In this case, however, big part of the problem was with Booking.com - for linking my reservation jot with the email I used for it but with another one. this way, I was I never received the necessary information. I could not access the property and I lost my money. Despite my explanation, hotel Havelser Hof decided to take my money and to say that I never arrived, which is not correct. In their explanations in an emails, after taking my money, they also were surprised how I could expect them to pick up a phone so late in the evening. Story short - it might be a nice hotel, but one should not expect any service if it is somehow outside what the hotel considers office hours. And information on Booking.com is not accurate in terms of accessibility.

The parking looked OK, I could not see how the hotel looked inside.

The room is visually very nice and comfortable. Requests were attended promptly and kindly.

Unfortunately, I did not receive the email where they gave the key to the entrance. Thanks God someone was still in the place and was able to open the door for me. Something similar happened to me when I lost the keys: The main entrance was open, and I could see the emergency number that was on the reception door. Otherwise, I would have stayed out. I suggest putting the emergency number on the main entrance door.

Nice, clean and well equipped hotel

During the booking process it was not shared that there would be no breakfast or restaurant available due to vacation period. The referred restaurant was also closed. This was really inconvenient.

Stayed here on a business trip in September 2013. Not far from Hanover airport, in a small village. I arrived on Monday afternoon and was informed the restaurant is closed on Mondays!! luckily I found another hotel that had a restaurant. Staff were very nice, the restaurant/bar was open on Tuesday and was very nice, good food and beer. The hotel room was ok but there were no window blinds only curtains and it overlooked a shop, garage and bus shelter so had to keep the curtains shut!! 5 minutes walk up the road was a nice turkish cafe-bar and they were friendly too...

I stayed for the second time in this lovely-looking hotel last Tuesday night. Sina, the lovely hotelier´s daughter, warmly greeted me as I arrived. Sarah, who welcomed me at the reception, like all other staff members, was very friendly, polite and helpful. The room was very good; bed, shower and furniture to my taste only, the tripod-lamp in room 14 is too widely spread for a comparatively small space. I did observe some "dirt" around the shower area but the friendly and very professional young Lena - who served at the reception and in the restaurant for the breakfast, said she´d pass my message on to her boss. I really must mention friendly and entertaining Katherine, as I did in my last evaluation. she is very observant, always noticed, when a guest´s glass, cup or plate is empty. I ordered and ate - with relish - pork knuckle with whipped potatoes, sauerkraut and a simply gorgeous gravy! Future guests to this hotel really must try this menu! I was served with two warm bread sorts with a lovely-tasting pâté before my main meal. When I have either business or private grounds for being in the Hannover area the next time, Hotel Havelser Hof is where I will gladly stay!
