HOTEL TAJI

This hotel has great potential and the staff seem to be making improvements all the time. I had a view of Mount Kenya from my room and the wifi was excellent, especially for watching Netflix. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

There isn't much hot water in the shower and none in the sink. It was very noisy at night which made it hard to sleep outside midnight to 6am. I think they need to add doors to the hotel corridors, to stop noise traveling up from the kitchen and bar. The bedroom doors are also very noisy when people unlock their rooms, so some sound proofing improvements would help.

The hotel is comfortable with spacious rooms. It has a great restaurant (international level) and bar. They also do good and quick laundry service. Not far from Nanyuki town center where you can find a few restaurants and a shopping area, Also not that far from the city market that is open twice a week. It is a good value for money if you looking for some comfort on you way north.

The location is offbeat, about 20min walk from town center - so you'll need a ride if you don't want to walk that much. There is nothing close to the hotel for food/drinks (though the hotel own restaurant and bar are great). Other problem is the showers - they have this auto-heating that makes you chose between good water pressure with cold water or dripping hot water (it is indeed a though call).
