Hotel Morobbia

The staff was very friendly, we could late checkin and the price was very good compared to all around in Locarno/Bellinzona, breakfast was good and included.

You could hear the other rooms.

The bathroom was a good size.

The entry way to the hotel made us feel like the Hotel had deferred maintenance and needed updating. The staircase to the room on the second floor seemed dingy and there were cracked tiles on the stairs. The wall at the top of the stairs had a wall covering on it that made us worried for what the hotel room would look like. The flooring in the room was a brown linoleum in a tile pattern and the room felt like it needed updating. We had thought we reserved a room with a queen bed, but there were two single beds that were on the "small side" and reminded us of brmeds you would find at a summer camp and not a hotel . The bathroom was a good size. The toilet needed maintenance as it kept running and we had to fiddle with the handle to get it to stop. The room & bathroom seemed to be clean, and we were happy about that. The breakfast was "adequate", but not anything special and there wasn't a great selection of items. They had some meats and cheeses and fruits and yogurt, cereal, and hard boiled eggs, but no hot items, even though they have a restaurant at the hotel. The coffee machine made a decent cappuccino. The staff were great. For example, the woman who worked the breakfast was very nice and helpful. Note: We are at the end of a 19 day stay in Italy, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and unfortunately, this was our least favorite place of all of our accommodations so far. In summary, the hotel needs an update/refreshing to the whole building and especially to its rooms. Our experience was that it was an "OK" place to stay, but we would have preferred it to be a bit nicer. There was some construction underway on the building's outside. We hope the owners will refurbish the property so that it is more appropriate for Booking.com customers. It was "pricey" for the quality of the room.

Very little choice at the breakfast buffet and the bread was old. The soap dispenser in the shower was broken. On our last day, we wanted to have breakfast at 7:30 am but no one showed up. The hotel was still closed by 8:00 am and we could not even do a proper check-out.

Very convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean.
