Hotel Casa Maya Calakmul

Lovely garden comfortable room, staff very helpful. They booked us on a trip to Calakmul at short notice from a local guide, he gave an excellent tour incorporating the bat cave. Becon ruins are near by. Breakfast was excellent.

Noisy! Trucks all night. Dogs barking and fighting all night. Roosters all night. No secure parking. No windows in the bathroom, only nets making it even noisier. Shower took 10 minutes to warm up. No restaurant on site.

Enormous terrace with two large relaxing seats. They were very comfortable. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Large bed and bathroom. I would definitely give a try on your way to the site of Calakmul.

There is still a lot of work done on the new Maya railroad and this gives a lot of noise from the road. I trust that this will diminish once the work in the railroad has finished.

The hotel for sure has its potential: the location is great, foundation is good, however it seems the best years are behind it. The problems are with lack of maintenance and few other details. + location + very friendly staff + hotel and room appearance

- the parking is not private (street outside), yet there is a gate so it's possible to make it happen - door and windows are not completely tight, so few insects can get inside (we had only 3 ants) - bedding, mattress and curtains to be refreshed - more flexible payment

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Maya Calakmul. We stayed at this small hotel because of our visit to Becan and Calakmul, Very good Mexican dinner and breakfast. Friendly staff. We were able to do our laundry and use the fridge in the communal area. WIFI and air conditioning were decent. Good for 2 nights.

It took a few minutes before we had warm water in the shower, but we were made aware of this beforehand. There were no curtains in our room. There was some noise from the building site of the train track (scheduled to be finished December 2023), but it didn't really matter as we had to be up early for our trip to Calakmul.

The hosts were welcoming.

The property is not maintained. The noise caused by trucks working on the new railroad is not to be ignored.

They gave me a smaller room that the one I booked. The information about beds is completely wrong. Do not be fooled by the pictures. Still waiting for my refund. If you want to go to calakmul I highly suggest you stop in another place it’s not that close.
