We booked Vishudda room with private pool . The room was large and looked as in picture. The bed was comfortable. The Aircon worked well. Bawantha , the manager , was helpful. The location is around 2 kms from Dambulla Cave temple but in the interior countryside. The hotel is surrounded by thick vegetation. The food at the restaurant was ok. The private pool is good when clean. It's a good stay if u can put with bit of maintenence issues.

It's severely under staffed and it kind of shows on the maintenence. The place is huge and only Bawantha and couple of assistants were on duty. The manager Bawantha does housekeeping, cooking , bills, travel arrangements even pool cleaning when the pool guy was not available. Some of the window drapes did not roll , old leftover food in refrigerator, sliding door gets jammed. The room has sliding door about 5m tall and it's a herculean effort to open and close a stuck door. The door railing have lot of dirt and door often gets stuck. The private pool is fantastic but is surrounded by thick vegetation. The pool gets dirty with fallen leaves and dead bugs overnight. The walk to restaurant is bit long. Due to thick vegetation, snakes are bit common in the area and we saw one near our private pool.Must have been looking for a gecko. Though they are shy creatures and will go away on seeing you but still some might find them uneasy. Door needs to be closed at all times due to monkeys and insects and other creatures. The open bathroom is great but birds do poop on the sink and needs to be covered. The bathroom shower valve also broke on the day we left.

The manager Bawantha did a really good job of making us feel welcome and helping us with transportation for our daytrip to Sigiriya! We had breakfast and dinner and both had a few different options of Sri Lankan variety. The food was very good. The villa is very spacious and comfortable. The outdoor bathroom is fun and you really feel like you're taking a shower in the jungle :) Although sometimes for small things it would be really useful to have a mirror and maybe a small sink in the room itself, since the door to the outdoor bathroom has to be closed everytime to keep animals out. The terrace and private garden with pool are perfect for a relaxing afternoon after climbing Lion's Rock and Pidurangala! If you're patient you can spot wild Langur monkeys in the trees behind the pool! Max, the property dog, was also a very good boy.

The pool was a bit dirty, a net for getting the dead bugs out would've been useful. Payments are taken only in cash, despite the Visa & Mastercard option mentioned, so make sure you bring enough! There are some frequent power outages.

We stayed in the red studio for 4 nights and enjoyed it as much as we could. House is nice, but the open bathroom is perfect. Also a small swimming pool and a whole place in the middle of nowhere, just nature, birds (and lake). Bawanthe is a really kind and nice guy and he tries to do everything for you and your happiness. He cooks delicious food - we eat there for breakfast and dinner.. If you have a few more days please stay a little bit longer, because in one night you can't evaluate all this what they offered to you.

1. A really hard bed. Put a memory foam on the bed. 2. Without a generator and power cuts are annoying (every day from 5 to 6 PM and next from 7:30 to 9PM or latter).

We booked this property for one night. The place and surroundings are pretty amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. The person who looks after the property and his helper is very kind to us. Also, they provide things that we want. The person who owned this place was also very kind. He was personally looking that we fulfilled our requirements at the property. This place is very close to Dambulla town. Since we traveled by our own vehicle we didn't face any uncomfortable because at night also we went to town. Inside the property is also very clean and nice (bedroom, washroom, etc). This place is suitable for a couple, family, or friends. I highly recommend this place. Go and enjoy the view beauty of the city. Have a fun trip. We looking forward to visiting again.

quiet a bit

We stayed at the “root chakra” home and this little house with our own pool was beautiful. Incense sticks were lighted when we came in which felt welcoming. The room was big and clean. There’s an outdoor bathroom (remember to close the door because of the monkey 😂). We got a great vegan breakfast everyday and ate there in the evening twice which was the best food we got in whole Sri Lanka! Thanks again Bawanthe for your great food and all the help and tips! Highly recommend to stay there! We’ll come back sometime :-)

Just remember that it’s an outdoor bathroom and the birds like to use the sink as there toilet.

Our stay at Mind Body and Soul was amazing. The hospitality of all the staff was great and adorable. The chef went out of his way to prepare delicious breakfasts and dinners for us every day. Even a lunch package on request. The accommodation provider also organized a very reliable and local taxi driver for us. The room was very big, clean and cozy. The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle, so you can see and hear many different animals. Despite this, there were no mosquitoes or other animals in the room. In front of and in our room we had good internet connection with our self-bought local SIM card. We can definitely recommend the hotel and would come back at any time.

The Chalet was beautiful, we loved the lodge to enjoy calm evenings. The host was exceptional, the best one we've met during our Sri Lanka journey!
