Villa Antica

Location was excellent right in the city old quarter with lots of cafes and restaurants closeby. We had fantastic breakfast in the cafe next door and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Highly recommend it for short or longer trip.

I didnt like the curtains, although they look good it took long time to close them in the evening and open again in the morning. But that's only a small inconvenience.

The hotel's location is fine. The apartment where we stayed was also fine. A couple of years ago the hotel offered a fantastic buffet breakfast in a cafe next door but this year it was quite disappointing. No buffet, just a box full of various things, few of which were to our liking. Those who eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, and those who expect a big salad, fruits, a decent oatmeal, or pastries, will also be disappointed. Yet, the biggest disappointment was check-in. It was supposed to be at 14:00 but the apartment was not ready. At 15:00 it was still not ready. At 15:20 it was still not ready. They had just begun cleaning it. A bad joke? We complained to the manager and he apologized sincerely. But what could he do? The hotel is severely understaffed and unable to handle a full house. The receptionist works as a room maid as well. So, you get the idea. If you do not mind checking in as late as 17:00 (no kidding), you can give it a try. Otherwise, try another hotel that WILL let you check in earlier.

We experienced a top service! Our hotel hostess was very helpfull with bus schedules, bookings etc - far beyond what could be expected. Room spacy and well equipped. Breakfast in café next door included: High quality Italian style coffees, freshly baked croissant and home made orange juice, toasts, selection of sausages and cheese, honey, jam, veggies - delicious!

The hotel is located at the center at walking distance from the old town! The room 31 was a great, big room with all the facilities! It was super clean and really cozy! The staff...wow amazing!! I want to highlight the fact that the breakfast was not only delicious but also at 5 star hotel level! I highly recommend it and If go back I will stay there again!

It is located perfectly to explore the old town. Staff were English speaking, friendly and helpful. We had a large room with a dining and kitchen section, the bath room was a good size. All was spotlessly clean with extras such as complimentary fruit and sweets. We spent two nights there and definitely put in on our list as a hotel to return to. The breakfast, which you go next door for, was amazing and stunningly presented. the food was fresh, with a good variety catering for all tastes and the platters were regularly refreshed. A delightful place with lovely friendly staff.

Very small hotel but spacious and updated suites in a great location. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Room was clean and even had a small kitchenette. Location was excellent. Only concern would be noise from restaurants nearby and no lift. Breakfast at adjacent restaurant was incredible!

Super location in old town next to high street. Very friendly staff. They even allowed us to stay all in one room with the kids and not take the second room so we did not have to stay on two different floors. Very friendly and professional. Very safe with 24h reception. Breakfast superb, very seldom have seen more original choice. I always give ratings when I am disappointed, therefore have to give it as well when expectations are positively beaten. Many western hotels can learn from them. We will come again!

The Villa Antica is a cozy boutique hotel , on a side street in the large pedestrian area surrounded by fountains, cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. Frre wi fi when in the room. The breakfast which was included was also absolutely delicious and fantastic in a nice café downstairs. Only a short 10 minute walk past cafés, fountains, etc. to Old Town. The staff was super friendly and eager to assist.

When I was making our reservation at Villa Antica I asked for a triple room with a view of the antic Roman theatre across the small pedestrian street in front of the hotel. What we got was a very spacious and comfortable little apartment with the one and only balcony overlooking the Roman odeon. What a start of our short stay here! Villa Antica is an old city mansion, perfectly renovated and full of bourgeois charms. Its location in the absolute centre of the city is unbeatable! If you want to stay in the best part of Plovdiv, you could not choose a better hotel - both in the heart of the most beautiful part of the pedestrian area and away from the car traffic and congestion. It took us not more than 10 min. on foot to get to the Old City in one direction and to the House of Culture in the opposite direction (via the pleasant central park) where we attended a dance performance. All the nice shops, cafes and restaurants are within short walking distance from the hotel. I should also mention the lovely reception and restaurant staff of young and kind girls and boys, always smiling and ready to help you. Lastly, rich and delicious breakfast of premium food products (including Italian espresso and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice), served in their own cafe downstairs.
