Die Lage über den Dorf und das historische Gebäude sind toll.

Der Besitzer schien sich nicht wirklich für seine Gäste zu interessieren. Man fühlte sich nicht wirklich willkommen, sondern eher als etwas lästig.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and have an old world feel with modern fittings.

The service was awful, possibly some of the worst I’ve experienced in Switzerland. I arrived to see a sign on the door saying the staff had decided to take the day off (on a Saturday). This was in German (I’m an English speaker) and it instructed me to call a local number or e-mail. There was no sign of a pro-active e-mail to me in advance explaining this was going to happen (a standard practice in such cases so that you can either book with another hotel or accept this constraint). This also meant all the facilities were unavailable, including the restaurant. The general attitude when I was let in gave me the impression that I was the problem. I needed to make an early start the following day but, rather than offer a solution like a pre-packed breakfast at my room door, I was simply told it would be too early for breakfast. Splügen offers two very good alternatives to this hotel: The Bodenhaus and Hotel Suretta. Both are currently miles ahead in terms of service, which is a shame as the hotel building itself is charming and has lots to offer.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit viel Charme

Sehr schlecht geführt. Man spürt als Gast, dass an allen Ecken und Kanten gespart werden muss. Mageres Frühstück, lange Wartezeit beim Empfang. Putzpersonal forderte uns um 10:30 auf das Zimmer zu räumen.

Rezeptionistin war sehr Freundlich, einfach die gute Seele in diesem Haus. Frühstück war reichhaltig.

Abendessen habe ich nur einmal im angegliederten Restaurant gegessen (Cordon Bleu mit Kroketten). War lediglich mit getrocknetem Schnittlauch garniert. Für den Preis hätte ich mir, nebst den Kroketten, ein Gemüse als Beilage gewünscht. Qualität der Zimmerreinigung hat Luft nach oben (Qualität schwankt).
