Kalpavanam Heritage Resort

We loved this place. Good location not far from the centre. The rooms were very spacious and we had a lovely balcony. The garden outside is beautiful lovely scenery. The food was good and a nice restaurant serving evening meals. There is a small cafe just up the hill with the most fabulous views and friendly staff for lunch. Elephant park next door.

The location, staff and breakfast were excellent. The place is a little outside of town (7-10min on foot) which means it’s quiet and relaxing and surrounded by nature. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The staff is small but were kind, helpful, proactive and very professional and reliable when it comes to organising rickshaws or tickets for excursions or shows. The rooms were nice and quite clean. The place is very child-friendly. Very good value-for-money. We enjoyed our stay on the whole and would stay there again.

For a "resort" there’s not much to do at the property. It’s basically a hotel surroundedby nature and not much more (which is fair for the cost and sufficient for our purposes). The process of ordering dinner is somewhat strange: you have to order before 6pm and tell them when you want to eat. Lunch is not available at the property (but that was not a problem for us since there are many good restaurants close by). The rooms are comfortable but could do with some additional small things like a hair dryer, a place to store the soap and more places to hang up towels, which I would expectfrom a 4-star hotel (but these were admittedly quite minor points).

Although 3 rooms were alloted each room was so small that had to leave luggage in the foyer
