"What a gem!"

So pleased we chose to stay there, the owners and staff were lovely. The food was delicious and generous portions. We had a balcony room with amazing views of Appenzell and surrounding countryside. The bed was the comfiest in our 5 week tour of Switzerland. We travel to Switzerland every year from Australia and will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location with friendly staff. Owner even drove us to train station in early morning and gave us a packed lunch to go!

Call or arrange transportation to hotel from train station ahead of time.

This place is so adorable. The couple who run the place were very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and the balconies were so cute with all the flowers, etc. The view is amazing overlooking the town.

Typically Swiss property with unique rooms and furnishings. Superb view from our balcony over Appenzell. Excellent meals and super friendly staff.

The curtains in our room were not thick enough to stop the early morning light waking us up very early.

"Lovely family run hotel with pretty view of town"

We loved that it was run by a family. The breakfast was very nice and the hotel had a beautiful view of the town below.

The bed was two twin beds put together - pretty common for Europe.

Room with balcony had a stunning view. Good sized room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast.

Slightly out of main part of town. A steep walk to get to the hotel from restaurants or the train station. (This was the "cost" of the stunning view.)

Quiet location above the town. Beautiful views. Make sure to check out the stars in the evening! It looks like you can reach out and touch them!

I loved everything! No complaints.
