Fantastic place to stay. The family who runs the house is super friendly, welcoming, and accommodating! They made sure all our needs were met, even providing u with extra towels we could take to the beach! The location is literally a 3 mins walk from Dickwella beach and about 10/15 from. Hiriketiya beach! And a tonne of shops at the doorstep! The kitchen on the terrace has everything you need to cook your own meals, from fridge, stove top, microwave, and a kettle. On New Years day, we were invited to eat breakfast at the family home, which was delicious! They also have a tuk tuk service, which was very reasonably priced!

A really good experience at Mum&Dad House. I have been welcomed in the family with great kindness. The room was really clean and breakfasts were delicious. Literally 5 minutes walking from the beach. I highly recommend !

Room is like the picture and clean. The family was helpful. The supermarket is very close by.

Keep in mind it's next to the main road, so you'll hear a lot of road noise. Also don't expect a nice beach. I booked this guesthouse to be close to the beach and it was a bit disappointing. No one goes to this beach as it's quite dirty and not nice. If you're looking for a "nice" beach, you have to walk to Hiriketiya Beach. I was glad I only booked it for a night.

💭First off the family are so so lovely here, they offered us food as soon as we arrived, we had already eaten but heard their cooking is amazing. The bedrooms are a big size, very spacious plus air con is modern & powerful. (Be mindful some of the rooms don’t have hot water, just cold. Check which room before you book 😊) bathroom had a bit of a funky smell but feel this is quite common across SL 🇱🇰 📍The location is handy if you want to stay IN Dikwella but if you’re looking to stay closer to Hiriketiya beach it’s roughly 10-15 minute walk away. Not a problem for us but we thought Dikwella might have a little bit more to offer.

🛌 The rooms themselves need a little bit of love & care; the mattresses are comfortable but the sheets are a bit old and tatty. A nice thick blanket would’ve been appreciated. Some pictures would be nice on the walls & maybe a bedside table/lamp to create a more cosy feel? 📝 The ‘common area’ mentioned in other reviews is just a small dining table and chairs with a kettle outside 3 of the bedrooms. No tea or coffee provided as the reviews mention. They have a rooftop but it’s not somewhere to sit and chill - I suggest maybe painting it up there, adding some fairy lights & some bean bags and you’ve got yourself a proper common area. 📱 However I need to mention the wifi practically only works for google, not for Netflix or social media. The owner was kind enough to top it up on our first night but this lasted for an hour or two, before it dropped out again throughout a film 😭

The hosts are so lovely and welcoming. They couldn’t do enough for you. Also the breakfast they serve is really delicious. One of the owners has a Tuk-Tuk and will happily take you anywhere if you need it. He also helped us with our bus journey to Ella and waited with us to make sure we got on the right one! Location is good across from Dickwella beach. For the price, the room and facilities (a/c and bathroom) are really good. Would definitely recommend for someone looking for a wholesome local stay.

Very good value for money. The room was big and I appreciated all the facilities. It was nice staying there also because the family who runs the B&B is really nice. They helped me organise transport to Galle and even offered me lunch when I arrived.
