Hotel Span

This is a classic example how a very good property can be dumped due to poor service. I stayed at this hotel a few times four years ago and had good experiences, so I booked it again last week through Agoda. However, the experience this time was awful. The entire property was in very poor condition. The staff were extremely rude when I checked in at night. There was no restaurant service, and the rooms were not even cleaned. Given the circumstances, I asked for an upgrade to a decent room and offered to pay for it at the hotel. However, the front office staff said there were no options for an upgrade because I had booked through a site, and if I wanted an upgrade, I would need to book again at the counter. Later, I realized that the property was entirely empty in the morning, whereas four years ago, it was bustling with guests. The staff were unkind and not helpful. The rooms were dirty and in dire need of an upgrade of all facilities, paintwork and electrical fittings.
