Hotel Haus Irsfeld

Hotel Haus Irsfeld was exactly as described. The decor is a little dated but most importantly it was clean, comfortable and quiet. Our host came to greet us on the street and was really helpful in recommending a local restaurant to eat in. Check in / out was easy and simple and It worked well as a place to stay to break up a long car journey. The village is very pretty and the local beer was fabulous.

Overall it was lovely but just felt like it needed a bit of TLC. We could only log onto the old WiFi which had a weak signal so we gave up trying to use it. The free toiletries were a nearly empty bottle of men's shower gel and some hand soap. Luckily we had our own but would have struggled if we had not. The bath towels though clean looked well used which was a little off-putting.

The owners were so friendly and helpful. They gave us secure garage parking for our motorbikes and even invited us to join them to celebrate his wife's birthday. Breakfast was simple but plentiful.

Everything apart from the close proximity to the church. The owners are friendly and extremely helpful, the room was spacious with a fabulous little balcony, the breakfast was good and plentiful. Waxweiler isn't big, but it has everything you need in a lovely location.

The church bells went off at 7 o'clock, and being directly opposite the church meant that we heard them loud and clear. Obviously, there is nothing the owners can do about it, but something to consider when booking.
