Santopaz Suites

The location of the property overlooking the Santorini coast was amazing. Santopaz is a 5 minute drive and 20 minute walk from the centre of Oia, which has stunning views and great restaurants. We stayed in the Ruby Suit which had incredible views of the sunset in the evenings; it was very clean, lovely bathroom, small kitchen area, super comfy bed and most importantly…good air conditioning! Alina at reception was THE best. Incredibly welcoming and super helpful. She did everything from organising our boat trip and quad bike hire, giving us great restaurant recommendations as well as takeout options and even telling us which overpriced places to avoid. She was always on hand to help with anything we needed!

Honestly there wasn’t really anything to dislike. The only thing we’d say about the Ruby Suite specifically was that you’re in full view of passing vehicles on the road which doesn’t leave much privacy however it’s a minor issue and if you’re spending most of your time enjoying activities away from your hotel such as the beach, exploring the island, boat trips etc then it really doesn’t matter.

We absolutely loved the Santopaz property; the accommodations we had booked was the Ruby room, which was spacious and incredibly clean, with a lovely plunge pool and patio overlooking the vineyards. It was pleasantly quiet and beautiful, and Alina was fantastic with guiding us towards the right restaurants, activities, and bookings (for boat tour, winery, ATV, etc). The bed was very comfortable, and the room itself was modern and well situated. Although they were other guests at the property, we barely saw them and experienced an oasis of peace that you can’t get anywhere else in Santorini! We felt right at home and will definitely be returning :)

The location is a bit further from the main areas, as anticipated, but the two of us made the 30 minute walk into Oia multiple times (just know there’s some elevation!) and we also got meals in Finikia, which was only 15 or so away - followed Alina’s restaurant recommendations there. Overall, it wasn’t too difficult to get around at all, as Alina helped us coordinate an ATV rental and transportation when necessary. The hotel is right next to the Domaine Sigalas winery, which we weren’t able to visit, so book that prior to your arrival!

unforgettable time in Santopaz, absolutely recommendable. The house is beautifully embedded in the landscape and perfectly oriented for sunrise and sunset. The architecture is beautiful, with a high standard. Alina and the staff were very helpful and did a great job, highly recommended, many thanks for all the excellence we were allowed to experience.
