Hotel Amigo

The room was not clean and the shower looked like we were going to be executed, there were wires all over the place and the shower-cap had a plastic bag over it. The room smelled like fungus. We left early and went to another hotel. don’t go here! Staff was nice though.

Very cheap, wasn’t far from the lancha dock but Panajachel is quite small anyway. Reception staff spoke great English and were very helpful.

It can’t be helped, but the surrounding area had a lot of barking dogs and cockerels so I had trouble staying asleep. Also, I believe there were people walking on the thin ceiling (didn’t look like stable ground to walk on) above my room hanging washing to dry which also made it quite hard to sleep in the morning.

Get what you pay for sort of hotel. Decent location, friendly staff and good breakfast included.

The first room water leaked all over the floor from the toilet, but they did let me switch. It included breakfast but it's not very good

We booked very last minute due to change of plans and just needed a cheap place for a nights sleep. Walking distance to main streets. Can’t argue with the price, basic as expected. Staff were friendly.

Bed sheets were stained and the sink tap didn’t work. Water wasn’t warm and the shower had all sorts of dodgy electrical wires hanging from it. Although slightly away from the main streets it was still loud at night, lots of noise from dogs etc

Only a 15min walk to the ferry, free breakfast is traditional and delicious. They also helped me out with tours and transportation. Room is big and bed is comfy. Have water in each floor for you to refill your bottle water.

Curtains too thin and there is a street light at the window so it was a bit hard to sleep. Also dogs barking and kids playing. Bring ear plugs
