Wentbridge House Hotel

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our Winter Fireside Retreat at Wentbridge House Hotel. On arrival, the receptionist offered us our room key along with homemade mince pies. The offer included a complimentary upgrade to Room 77 in the annex. The room was beautiful and overlooked the grounds and river beyond. There was a half bottle of champagne on ice along with a birthday card and homemade truffles. The cocktails and evening meal were delicious. Breakfast was a little disappointing, as the bacon was very crisp and the poached eggs were underdone, but this did not overshadow the wonderful stay we had had. Throughout our stay, the staff customer service was excellent.

3rd year of staying for our festive family break and all thoroughly enjoyed it again. Food as good as ever, rooms spacious & comfortable, service from all staff giving up their own family time was second to none. Thanks all & no doubt we’ll see you next year.

We go to the brasserie with family quite often it’s normally very good but on this occasion there were one or two things that need pointing out the drinks menu with food smears on it and the cheeseboard served up on a dinner plate it should be a board and when I visited the mens room one of the members of staff used the toilet and left with out washing his hands (disgusting) otherwise we had an enjoyable time

Everything - location, comfort, log fires!!

Lovely hotel inside and outside our room was a nice size with a comfortable bed, we stayed on a bed and breakfast booking and fully enjoyed our breakfast in the morning, we also looked a table in the al la cart restaurant for an evening meal this is where we felt service slacked we waited over 20 mins before we got asked if we would like a drink and brought us a menu to look at for food, food was very tasty but not much on our plate £39 for a fillet steak on a potato base only no other veg, but I would just say it was the service that really let our stay down, more staff and a bit more training would benefit all round, we did mention about the slow service when we checked out,

Wonderful family festive day. Plenty to do for young and old. Santa Claus, the elves and staff were all very attentive, nothing was to much trouble. The food was excellent. The two hour time slot just goes too fast. Very good value for money, we will definitely be back next year!

Everything, beautiful place.

Dry finger sandwiches which had clearly been sitting out a while, with no proper vegetarian alternative: I was given three of the cheese and chutney sandwiches, rather than a proper veggie selection, and no salmon quiche alternative. The cakes were fine, but nothing special. The mince pie had barely any mincemeat in it. My rose tea tasted utterly bizarre; in fairness, I was offered a replacement and wish in retrospect that I’d taken it, as it didn’t improve with further drinking. The service wasn’t great either: we were offered water for the table which never materialised and we had to ask for it again. We twice enquired whether we could have plain clotted cream rather than the coconut clotted cream specified on the menu for one of our party; this was never answered. When the clotted cream arrived and we asked again, we were eventually told that it was all plain clotted cream, as they didn’t the coconut flavoured version wasn’t available! We had to request cutlery for the preserves; no one came to ask if we wanted more drinks and we were left for a long period at the end of the meal when we were ready to leave. All in all, it didn’t compare well to previous festive afternoon teas, and I wouldn’t return.
