What sells here is the location. The spot is truely magical. Right under the mountain, great access to walks and hikes. Being right amongst New Zealand native trees and brush. It’s simply gorgeous. If you’re brave enough to get out of bed in the middle of the night you’ll find the Milky Way right above the lodge. I really liked the relaxed feel of the lodge, the staff were so kind and attentive. The rooms had everything you needed and were lovely and warm. The bed was lovely comfortable too!

My only negative would be you could hear your neighbours through the walls. Thankfully, we found this out earlier in the day and were able to pop to town for some ear plugs which did the job of blocking them out perfectly.

No toaster or microwave but other than that great rooms, very clean and perfect location right under Mt Taranaki

Location was excellent for hiking. Rooms were clean & very comfortable . Food was amazing & all the staff were so friendly & always happy to help.

The rooms are lovely and the setting so peaceful. We loved being able to have our biking group of 8 people all stay in the same accommodation and share the walks and the meals together. It was the 3rd time I have stayed in the Mountain House and its always special

We thought the cost of the breakfast was steep, as was the wine at dinner.

Was perfect after a long days walking, good location, staff and food.

Lage direkt am Berg und am Beginn diverser Wanderwege am Mount Taranaki. Sehr sehr gutes Restaurant (besser mit Vorreservierung, da sehr wenig Kapazität). Toller Blick bei klarem Himmel auf den Mount. Höhe 840m. Zimmer mit kleiner Terrasse, Kühlschrank und Jaccuzzi-Badewanne, Wasserkocher aber keine Küchenzeile.
