Dale Hill Hotel

upgraded room was lovely. Breakfast was excellent.

Temperature control in room didn't work which was a pain because of cold weather. But reception provided freestanding heater.

The swimming pool the room the bar and everything was excellent

Dale Hill is a good place to stay to explore the local area or to stay in and chill. The golf courses are great and the other golf facilities are also good quality although like with most courses in the winter, it is susceptible to getting a little soggy. The rooms are well worn but clean with nice bathrooms. We stayed in a Suite this visit and it was handy to have the separate room for our son to sleep. I would say that on both visits we've had to Dale Hill, the rooms have been a little pricey for what you get but not terribly so. The reception staff are very helpful and always friendly. It's easy to get parked and there is plenty of space. Overall a pleasant visit.

We had previously stayed back in November and the food was amazing but I'm not sure if the chef had changed or something as the food on this visit was nowhere near as good. Items were burnt/ over cooked. The service in the restaurant on the first night was slow and the serving staff were a little abrupt when I questioned an error with my order. This was really disappointing as we had previously had some lovely meals there. We used the swimming pool for the first time and it was late in the day and you could tell. The changing rooms had more water in them than the pool and the loo was pretty manky. I couldn't help but notice the amount of hair that was floating around the pool which was very off putting. We had planned to make this our base when visiting the area, but we might consider other options in future.
