Great hotel and location. Fantastic rooms. Excellent customer service.

in answer to your specific questions I rate the hotel and staff and location highly. see below box as to why I was dissatisfied.

I booked the hotel a week beforehand. At no time was I told there would be a loud xmas party directly below the first floor. On arrival at about 6pm I was told this and it would be loud until 11pm ish. I had no other options. I had paid up front via Booking.com and the money is taken out about 48 hrs beforehand. I was offered no compensation. I delayed going to my room until 9.30ish. The noise was very loud, impossible to sleep through or get to sleep. It quietened after 11pm sometime. I was left unrelaxed, had a poor night. I would have fallen asleep peacefully at 9.30 ready for an early start. The opposite happened. I gave the hotel a chance to respond to this complaint, made a few days afterwards by e mail (informing I would be giving an adverse report but giving them a chance to reply in case there was some defence on their part), and they acknowledged receipt of the complaint but they did not reply at any stage. That is why I have given a poor report.

Lovely clean and comfortable room

Couldn't get a decent shower, it was sub zero outside and I just wanted a warm shower, but to get it even slightly warm, just a dribble came out

Staff are great.

Room was cold. Ensuite not easy to use as no more than a cupboard. Request was made and email confirmed, but in arrival it had not been adhered to. Unfortunate as it spearhead a great reputation. Value for money very poor. I hate to give such a poor review.

Shower too slow Room not warm enough but the staff was kind to bring a heater for us. Kudos. Mash potatoes with Lamb and veggies served at dinner 2/10
