Mundaring Weir Hotel

There was no breakfast, I'm not sure why that question was there. I liked that it was surrounded by bush and quiet, with just birds and children playing. They had a big area for kids to play, scooters and helmets and basketballs, so my daughter had things to do. I liked being left alone and having air conditioning. When it rained we were given an umbrella to borrow. The hand soap provided was really thick and felt effective. Cool old timey radio! And it'd be lovely when it is cold to have the open fire like that.

The tea towel just moved water around, had to use the body/bath towel to dry dishes. The air con was touchy and we were told to leave it at 23 and don't touch it, but it was so hot we wanted to put it to 18 to cool it down to start. The wifi was almost non existent. There was no clothes airer to dry our clothes out after hand washing so we had to use coat hangers. Upon arrival we were very hot and bothered and missed the sign on the door, just knocked and it was locked so desperately tried other doors to get away from the 41 degree heat and cool off. I had thought staff would be expecting us as we arrived when we had said we would, and we did drive around desperately looking for how to get in, too. There was no pepper in the pepper shaker, just remnants all over the edges so it looked full. The kettle leaked quite badly and dropped boiling water on my foot. Because of the bathroom sink being the only sink that could be used to wash dishes also, it would be really awesome to provide disinfectant as well as the dish detergent so the sink could be cleaned properly between bathroom hand washing, clothing hand washing and then dishes cleaning. And it'd be really super to have a fly screen door so you could leave your front door open and no flies come in, and the kids could then go and play in the big area and come and go without parents having to get up to open the door and shut it, or trust the children with a key, or leave the door open and just let all the flies in.

Historical, relaxing location in the middle of nature and very close to the Mundaring Weir. Jans was very welcoming and helpful. Great place to stay for an authentic getaway in the heart of Perth hills.
