"Great, away from the crowds in a truly authentic environment"

10.0

The staff were lovely, the location on the edge of the park was perfect, elephants roaming at night, truly atmospheric. Darius, the manager was incredibly helpful and despite our wishes to walk alone, always catered our safety

Mosquitoes but that’s part of the nature. That said, the staff sprayed our room every evening before bed and ensured we had a peaceful sleep

"4.5 out of 10."

4.0

Staff had no courtesy to assist us to unpack our luggage from the vehicle after such a long drive. The door lock for our room was too old and not secured. The shower is not maintained to clean mineral deposits. From judgement, this has not been attended to for so many months. As a result, water discharge from the shower cap is very little despite good water pressure. Electric kettle is not regularly cleaned to remove mineral deposits. despite telling the manager to do so. No hanger for clothes in the wardrobes. Digital TV was not paid for at the time of check in. Too many mosquitoes and the mosquito nets need replacement. Room service is below average. The staff do not add bottled water to the room for drinking.

"It was a nice and pleasant stay"

6.0

The staff Enevia and Ronald were quite helpful and I also enjoyed the English breakfast. Darius the Lodge manager who also serves as a tour guide was also very good and exceptional in organizing the tours and making sure we got there on time or arranged pick up for the ones that needed us to be picked up. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the hospitality at the lodge.

Just make sure you carry a lot of mosquito repellent with you, Livingstone mosquitoes are out for blood. In terms of power back up when there are power outages/loadshedding, the lodge does have a generator/ Genset which sometimes takes a while to kick in and I didn't like the fact that the power and water are linked. When the power goes so does the water but anyway I did suggest to Darius that while we as the guests wait for the generator to kick back in rather than sitting in the dark, the rooms should have those rechargeable magneto lights at least .

"Nice place, need some renovations done though."

7.0

The hotel manager is a real problem solver. A situation occurred that locked me out and with help from others the hotel manager made sure that it was solved. Also, very present and I could talk to him whenever needed. Breakfast a la carte was very nice. It’s in a park, so the chance you see animals in morning was realistic. Did not see though.

The water pressure was low and I did approach but no action was taken.

Beds were comfortable, working AC too

The room wasn't as clean as it could have been. There was a problem with mosquitos (which you would expect)... But there managed to be more inside than out. The air was actually black with mosquitos. Not so happy.
