Beachside location

Very disappointing stay. We booked 2 rooms and were given 1 room to share between 4 ppl. Staff appeared tired. Grounds were dirty as were the cutlery and dishes. Food was very ordinary.

Right on the beach, friendly staff. Close to a great range of restaurants. Probably the best area in Unawatuna.

Nothing really. The facilities are basic, there was a smell coming from the shower waste but nothing overly offensive.

Large clean and comfortable room with glimpse of sea.

We were asked to pay in US dollars which we had expected but they were rejected due to a dot of felt pen and a 2mm tear. We were asked to get new dollars. However, on departure, we were billed in the local currency without any fuss. They also took card payments from other guests but originally we were told this was not an option. Not sure what was going on here.

Hotel is a bit old but I like the old charm. Updated bathrooms, although shower was sometimes hot, sometimes not, eg. in the morning time. Right on the beach with great view. We took 2 rooms one downstairs and one upstairs, highly recommend rooms on 3rd floor as they have amazing sea view. Downstairs rooms are very dark even during day time there is no natural light.

Food in restaurant was just OK, the servers aren't very attentive so you need to ask for stuff, eg. they only brought out 3 cups for 4 people, milk for coffee wasn't heated, etc, not much attention to detail. But overall the staff was helpful and friendly, just need to learn a bit more customer service. There is an automatic 10% service charge for the hotel price and on food as well, I'm not sure if this service charge is shared with hotel staff so I usually give some extra on top to make staff happy.

The place is right on the beach and it's at the main street with all the shops - but it's overall still quiet at night.

The breakfast and food was ok - nothing exceptional but nice.

Great location and friendly helpful staff. The room was comfortable with a good bed and large bathroom. Stepping straight out of the hotel onto the main street or beach made exploring easy. The newest member of staff, a puppy called Dilu, was definitely a highlight!

The public areas were untidy, partly due to building work in the hotel, but also generally. The eating areas were not as shown in the photos, no table cloths and tired furniture. A third of the sunbeds were broken and unuseable. The courtyard is now tiled, not grass as shown. The key negative is the noise of loud dance music from the bar area and surrounding restaurants, very loud until at least 11pm every night. Not a place for relaxing in the evening.
