Hotel Rao

The room looked acceptable at first glance. The location was convenient for my visit to Cluj.

I have visited Cluj more than eight times and have stayed in eight different hotels, ranging from three-star to five-star properties. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience I have had. Although the room initially looked fine, it was not worth the money. The wall beside the bathroom appeared to have suffered water damage in the past and had simply been painted over. Damp powder and debris kept falling from the wall and left my luggage dirty. The bathroom layout was extremely poor. The toilet was squeezed into a very small space, and the shower door opened directly against the toilet, making it inconvenient and uncomfortable to use. What disappointed me most was the service. I arrived about ten minutes before 1 pm, having already arranged an early check-in through Booking.com. Before even asking about my reservation, the receptionist told me in an unfriendly and angry tone that check-in was only at 2 pm. After checking my booking, she questioned where I had made the reservation, as though I had done something wrong, and continued interacting with me in a hostile manner. Good customer service costs nothing, and guests should feel welcomed when they arrive. Unfortunately, between the poor condition of the room and the attitude at reception, I do not feel this hotel offers good value for money. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in during my visits to Cluj, this was by far the worst experience. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others. No welcome and nice goodbye at all. I do not know how they get those 5 star reviews.
