Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, Worcester

It’s absolutely beautiful, and has been treated with reverence and respect by HandPicked Hotels in regard to its history and heritage. My father moved a few hundred yards away in 1986, when it was still an Abbey, so I have known it for years and have had afternoon tea and dinner ( and my father’s wake ) here over the years. It is uniquely beautiful, and staffed by people who care about the place.

It was a bit disappointing to find that the Refectory, where we have eaten before, only had three options on the menu, and if we had eaten two nights running the menu would have been the same. We’ve not experienced that before, which is odd - especially since George’s Bar seemed to have more options! The service was a little erratic: the staff were lovely but things were forgotten a couple of times. Having said that, the actual food was very good. Breakfast, and the service in the bar, was excellent, however.

A good breakfast with a good choice of cooked, continental, fruit and cereals. Fruit juices, coffee and tea.

A green light in the bedroom that shone all night. I think it was one of the detector units.

Beautiful surroundings and tasteful renovation of the old Abbey

Lovely hotel in an old monastery. Great to explore. Very friendly staff. Room was gorgeous. We stayed in a feature room and the two rose windows in the room were amazing. The room was very large and bed was very comfortable.

Was all great.
