Nothing - all was good

The hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming. It was a pleasure to be greeted so warmly by the reception staff and guided to our room. The room was large and very comfortable, with coffee making facilities. The room was very tastefully furnished and very clean. We had dinner on two nights at the hotel, on the first night from the regular a la carte menu, I had the pork, my partner the chicken, both dishes were excellent. The second night from the Sunday Roast menu, we both had the beef and were delighted. Complimentary bread was offered. The meals were substantial in addition to being of very high quality. The Corello wine was outstanding. Breakfast was exceptionally good with a good selection of dishes which suited my partner well, whilst I enjoyed an excellent cooked breakfast. It was a particularly noteworthy point to find the owner supporting the staff waiting at table on the first night - not in our experience a regular occurrence. This shows a level of engagement by the leadership that is much to be commended. The warmth and openness of the staff and their ability to engage freely with guests speaks to both the quality of the staff and the quality of the management. We wholeheartedly congratulate both on an outstanding guest experience. It is impossible to complete the review without complimenting the hotel on the quality of its well stocked garden. We are both keen gardeners and we were very impressed with the grounds of the hotel. The hotel is slightly on the edge of the bustle of the town - but within relatively easy walking distance, mostly through pleasant parkland if you are reasonably fit of the historic centre and the large Pittencrieff park that provides plenty of interest. Plenty of parking space was available. I very strongly commend Garvock house, its owners and its staff!
