Bamboo Surf Beach

We chose this hotel as a family after considering many options, but upon arrival, we were surprised to find that they didn't even provide a copy of our passports, and perhaps they didn't have any Accommodation list ,they asked us to write our names on a drink order form. The reception was also very perfunctory and our excitement from Japan quickly vanished. We understand that there might be a shortage of electricity in this area. but there was no explanation during the check-in. The air conditioner wasn't working well, and when we asked about it, all we were told was to unplug it and plug it back in. We wanted to move hotels from the very first day. We were told we could swim in the pool if we didn't mind it being completely dark, and we also wanted to take surf lessons, so we messaged them before arriving, but they told us to just ask on the street. Their hospitality was severely lacking. The next day, even though we had told them we wanted to eat at the restaurant, they had rented out the restaurant for the owner's wife's birthday party with his family and friends, showing absolutely no consideration for the guests. They had the restaurant completely dark and were playing loud music during the party. We had to pass through there to get to our room, which was very unpleasant. I met the owner, but it seems we have different values. There was no gratitude or apology towards the guests, and they were simply enjoying their day. Guests pay for their accommodation. They should hold their birthday parties at their own homes. Alternatively, they should at least say a word to guests and properly train their staff, otherwise guests will be disappointed. If you're staying at a seaside inn, you can get a more satisfying trip with better service and views of the stars and the sea, even at a lower price.

Great location - two beautiful beach front cabins and then right accross the street more, surrounding the pristine pool. The compound is very clean and in much better condition than comparable properties. Loved the small touches- really nice in room power coffee variety, nice pool towels, umbrella and - a lovely hanging chair on the veranda. Really, just sit back and relax. We were received with true hospitality, even helping us organize massages in room, which by the way were great

Possibly the only negative comment to offer for those looking, is that the kitchen runs - like most other hotel eateries on Siargao, on island time. I suggest you lay back, enjoy the lush garden view and don‘t mind that your orders trickle in 😁

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit im Bamboo surf. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und wunderschön, in der Nacht hörte man kaum etwas von der Strasse sodass wir sehr gut geschlafen haben. Das Personal sowie der Owner waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage ist top und direkt am Surfspot.

Momentan gibt es eine Baustelle neben dem Bamboo. Da wird tagsüber etwas gehämmert und geborrt was uns aber nicht gross störte da wir sowieso früh wach waren um zu surfen.

The beachfront cabin was amazing for my stay. Great views, a small "yard", hammock, and just enough privacy without being closed off. The food and beer from the restaurant was delicious and most of all the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. Its no five star luxury hotel but I came expecting a small island cabin vibe and it was perfect for me.

The staff mentioned the occasional power outages (backed up by the hotel generator) which would lead to the AC unit turning off and needing to be manually reset. I did wake up hot a few times. The mattress is a little thin/firm for people expecting more cushion.
