"Palace Hotel Silver City NM"

10.0

This is great restored old fashion hotel. Lobby and rooms are very comfortable. Tea and cookies in the afternoon and a good on the go breakfast included. Right in the heart of downtown you can walk to everything.

"Lovely, Historic Hotel"

10.0

We stayed in the Azurite Suite which was one of the two rooms at the Palace Hotel that has a private entrance right on Broadway St. It is two doors down from the main entrance of the hotel. What a find; and what fun. Our suite was perfect. It had a large living room with an eating area. The bedroom and bed was comfy and the bathroom was huge. Everything was furnished beautifully. Traffic noise was no problem after 6:00pm. We parked on the street and there was no issue with that arrangement either. We typically choose a well known hotel chain, but this time we wanted a different experience. So glad we made that smart decision. The ladies that run the hotel were gracious, kind and accommodating. Make a reservation, you won't be disappointed.

"Old School"

8.0

We were pleased with our stay at this hotel. It is bit in need of some TLC, but it was clean, comfortable, and the personnel are friendly. My only complaint was the room we had faced the breakfast area which is placed in the middle of the hall on the 2nd floor. So if there are a lot of folks at breakfast you will be up early. Since we were there to hike it was NBD. Can walk thru the town easily, that is the old town. Pretty cool.

"Review for Room 60"

4.0

I don't like to leave negative reviews and had reviewed this property more positively a few years ago. This review is for Room 60 - one of the small rooms. I had stayed in another small room before a few years ago, and except for the size of the room it was acceptable. It had a separate bathroom closed off by a door. Room 60 might be OK for one person, but is not good for 2 people. The portable air conditioner in the room cramped things so badly you could barely get to one side of the bed and was so loud that we couldn't use it even on the fan mode. The bathroom sink is right next to the bed and didn't even have a hook for the hand towel. The mattress seemed to be old as once my husband got in bed we kind of rolled to the middle and the pillows were the worst I have ever had. The shower is not behind a door - just on the other side of a partition that divides off the room. The one kudo I can give it is that the staff was all very friendly.

"Victorian splendor"

8.0

What can I say, the Palace is a Victorian Hotel, over a hundred years old and that in itself makes it a fun place to visit. Rooms were small, bathrooms were small, sink is in the bedroom. Is there places to plug in electronics, hardly, water pressure was questionable, air conditioning barely adequate. Parking is on the street and can be a problem. All this being said, it is a historical property that evokes the imagination. It is clean, had a great bed, plenty of pillows. A must experience when visiting Silver City. We will be back.

"Great location "

10.0

For the couple looking for a great place to stay with the easy access to good restaurants and brew pubs pick this hotel. I was a single traveler on this trip and it felt secure even though you have to park your car on the street. Worth the time and money by far.

"Enjoyable night at this historic hotel"

8.0

We stayed overnight at this historic hotel built in the 1880's. The location was in the tourist heart of old town Silver City, with restaurants, art galleries, and museums a short walk away. The hotel has considerable Old West charm, the staff was quite helpful, and our room facing Broadway was quiet enough. The room was clean and had modern fixtures but also some quirks that were not unexpected in a building this old. As an example, the toilet in our room was a tight fit. The continental breakfast was adequate enough given the very reasonable price for the room.

"Very unique and memorable"

10.0

My wife and I stayed in the McCray room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The king bed had very nice linens and plenty of pillows. The door to our room opened directly onto the street which initially caused us a little concern, thinking we would hear pedestrians and car traffic throughout the night. But those fears were unfounded as after 10 o’clock the noise ordinance imposed by the town becomes amazingly effective. We actually slept in and missed the included breakfast. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Chris L. Charleston, SC

"OK for the price"

6.0

We spent one night here on our way to Gila Cliff Dwellings. Seemed nice for it's age. But it's an old hotel. Our room was VERY small. There was a busy intersection just outside our windows. Close street parking was difficult to find. Continental breakfast was convenient. OK for a one-time visit.

"Adventureous"

10.0

My family comes from South Africa, but we travel around the USA for work. We stayed at Palace hotel for 4 nights and it was very interesting. There is so much history all around you! We enjoyed the experience. I want to especially give credit to the two women who did the house keeping, they are very sweet ladies and did an amazing job at making the rooms comfortable. I used the makeup wipes and shampoo, without asking they gave me some extra since I used them each day. Very thoughtful. The lady and man that worked the front desk were very kind and helpful with tips about traveling. They both greeted us each time we saw them. If you like history and adventure i would definitely say it was worth the stay! If we ever come back to Silver City, Palace hotel will most likely be our pick! Thank you guys for a wonderful time!
