Riviera Hotel Hartenbos

Unfortunately breakfast was not included in this package by the hotel. Found that out the next morning in the breakfast room!!

Even with river view rooms available I have been given a room at the back of the hotel with no wifi, no shower, a huge spa bath, but when I switched it on the smell and pieces of rotten material ended up in the bath was terrible, had to clean it out and flushed out the jets proper myself. According to the cleaning list behind the door the room was last serviced in 2024!! Reception's response was if we had booked direct with them we would have better rooms with breakfast, because they reserve the 3 worse rooms to Booking .com without breakfast.

Location was great, clean, with a decent setup and size of the room. Restaurant has a nice deck for relaxing on and pool for the kids to swimming in.

Did not find the staff the friendliest. Beds were hard as rock that we did not sleep properly. Shower head was clogged with years of rust and muck build up, so water barely came out of it.

The food from the in house Restaurant is over fried. Breakfast was oily.

The aircon remote did not work and a woman of 68 had to climb on a chair everything to switch of to use other electrical appliances. Also no sun loungers outside. I asked but was informed that they were all broken and were not going to be replaced. Once again old ladies do not like to lie on grass. How do you get up? 😌
