Lavendish Lake Giritale - Former Giritale Hotel

Nice and friendly staff.

The stay was a disaster from the beginning. I had booked this hotel for 2 nights but ended up leaving after the 1st night. There were many issues and our room was changed 3 times.. the final straw was when the AC broke down with a loud rattling noise at 2AM and we could not go back to sleep in the heat. The hotel is not maintained well at all! The food was also pretty bad.

False statements about rooms. Website Said lake view room but gave us downstairs rooms.

Clean cosy room and bathroom with seperate shower cubicle. Comfortable bedding. Spectacular lake view. Friendly staff. Good breakfast buffet. Beautiful location surrounded by lush greenery.

A concierge could have been there to greet the guests and assist with parking location etc..

The room was lovely and clean. All facilities worked and great to have a shower head that had been cleaned so worked properly. The seating area for bar etc was good .

The reception staff! When we arrived no one came out to greet us, told us to sit down when we went to desk and then spent time on a phone leaving us just wondering . Then given an indifferent fruit juice drink and no wet flannels. (Saw they were given to next guests) . Very bad first impression. The restaurant older staff told us 3,100 rp for buffet and it was 3,800! Drinks were expensive . The hand written a La cart menu was not impressive not only because it was on general paper but also we had to ask for it and was not automatically offered . No one was attentive in the restaurant except for one young guy who came up to tell us the strength of the curries . Well done to that guy. The bar man was very ill whilst we were in that area told reception and they changed staff but the cleaning of the bar should have been first priority as he was sick in sink (felt sorry for him) but it did not seem to happen. Access to the pool and changing room was lots of steps and the rope across the pool ummm bit dangerous we thought . The outside of the building and on our patio need decorating bad condition. We felt the staff in general need to be better trained in customer service.

The location & the view is amazing. Good Breakfast. Staff is really friendly and supportive.

The lobby and restaurant is bit outdated. Little renovation could add more value to the property.
