De Vooroever

I have booked and stayed at a lot of hotels, but this has to be one of the worst. First, we booked a room for 4 people for the Easter weekend. When we arrived, we were told that there was a mixup and we were put in two different rooms. The next morning, the owner told us to pack our stuff and move to a 4 people room, where the hallway was used for storage. Overall, both of the rooms were horrible, one stank like an attic, and the pillows were dusty. The wallpaper was peeling of the walls in multiple areas. In some areas, there was mold. It felt very unhygienic. The toilet in the new room was also broken. This hotel has not seen renovation in 50 years. The breakfast was also disappointing with very limited options and no vegetables. The staff weren't very accommodating either. The owners have any respect for neither themselves nor their customers.

We stay just one night ..Nice hotel and restaurant .. The team is very attentive and helpful .. Rooms are simple but complete and neaty. The restaurant serves a good variety of meals and the breakfast is good, too. The property is near the lake.. Very good option for short stays and travellers..

Basic but comfortable, Good meal in the evening, and plenty of Breakfast.

Great rooms (we had all five). Brilliant food and breakfast. Wonderful staff. Very good value indeed. It's 'on the road' so to speak, so not for a city visit, but as a stop over was perfect.

Beds and bathroom were OK. Breakfast quite good. Good helpers in bar and restaurant. Waterbirds on canal out back, good outdoor seating.

Had to wait nearly an hour after check-in time for room to be ready. Uncommunicative manager, not welcoming or polite. Weak room security. Management is not reacting to reviews.
