Beautiful historic property. Absolutely charming. Pretty room and dinning hall was very picturesque. Lovely attention to detail. Lush trees around.

We hate to have given such low scores, but it was very, very cold rainy/hail weather when we were there and the 2 radiator heaters in the room and bathroom would not go on. We let the nice, friendly front desk manager know that neither radiators would turn on and he said he would bring us a heater. That never happened. It was too cold to go out again to the Pub to ask the manager again… we thought he would come rescue us. All night we froze in our room. We were so cold that we tried to warm ourselves with the hairdryer. We slept with our coats, gloves, and scarfs on. We didn’t even use the lovely shower because it would have been too frigid when getting out. We also paid, when we arrived, 30 lbs for the cooked to order breakfast in the morning and were told to enter a particular door to the dinning area. We did as told the next morning. There was a lovely display of the standard breakfast buffet, but not a single person ever came into the dinning room in 30-40 minutes to take our order for the hot cooked breakfast that we paid for. So we never received the breakfast. Then when we checked out, the very nice lady working at the front desk said that she was looking for us to take our order for the breakfast, but apparently said we didn’t come through the right door for her to see us. But we DID come through the door that we were instructed to go through, as told by from the nice gentleman the night before when we paid for the breakfast. So unfortunately we never got what we paid for. We also told her that we froze all night. She said the master breaker switch, located in the pub area, for our radiator heaters in our room, “had not been turned on” by the hotel staff. This was unacceptable. No offer to refund our breakfast money or to compensate for such a cold, unheated room was made. It’s a sad thing to report for such an exceptionally lovely property with beautiful thoughtful details. It was just a huge staff mistake on 2 important issues. Sorry to report.

Nothing really, but some building work was going on that dropped the score from 10 to 9

The site is really beatiful, hidden away in a quiet street. The staff was very good, especially the breakfast waitress from Oekraine.

The room was a bit dusty, but the rest was fine.

Wonderful place, exceptional views, very clean and modern room! Very authentic restaurant nearby.
