Traditions - Hotel "Zur Tanne"

We loved everything. The place was clean and very cosy. Don't expect a modern-looking hotel as that's not the vibe at the Harz which has a more traditional and earthy architecture. The amenities, however, were modern and top class. Our host Jörg was extremely friendly and thoughtful. We traveled with a 3 year old and he made sure to arrange all the things he would need in the room (children's toilet seat, stool to reach the washbasin, diaper changing mat, child bed). The breakfast was tasty and wholesome and Jörg would always be present to prepare fresh coffee and scrambled eggs if we wanted. We could also ask him for information about the area. The location was great, just a few minutes away from the central market square and Rathaus and the central train station. Even when Deutsche Bahn delayed us by more than an hour and we were way past the check in time, he patiently waited for our arrival. It would be our pleasure to stay here again

Very tasty, varied and fresh breakfast, very central and picturesque location, and best of all a very welcoming, kind and helpful host. Lovely old wooden beams and structure. A view onto a central shopping street in Wernigerode. It felt a bit like staying in an old inn or tavern from a bygone era.
