Butterfly Villas Nusa Ceningan

The property had the most unreal views, it was the most perfect stay we could’ve imagined. The room was beautiful, the bathroom was beautiful. It was all perfect. The staff were absolutely amazing, the most helpful and friendly staff I’ve ever come across. They went out of their way daily to facilitate us in terms of advice and help along the way with any troubles we came across whilst travelling. It had such a friendly and homely feel to it!

I loved it all - the only thing that we thought was that it would’ve been nice if there was like a slight breakfast menu - such as maybe a smoothie bowl or anything. Only bevause we wanted to be lazy and stay there all morning at times but had to leave to get some breakfast!

The views were amazing in our secluded villa. Christian and his staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, doing everything he could to make our stay memorable. Great pancakes, lovely deep pool. Christian has built the villas himself with fantastic attention to detail and making his guests comfortable. Can't wait to come back.

The place is functional but not practical. Feels like you're camping as the walls and ceiling are very thin and you can basically hear your neighbours above and beside you fart...or snore. The bathroom has the world's smallest sink installed and there is nowhere to put your things beside the floor, unless you only travel with a toothbrush. The owner somehow managed to make us feel like an inconvenience - however staff is pleasant, smiley and friendly. Our door lock broke on the second day and could not be fixed. For us, not an issue, but we never got a 'sorry about that' or anything the likes from the owner. So our room was unlocked the whole time and nobody really acknowledged that. There's also no safety box. When we left, again, staff was nice but owner just didn't seem to be bothered looking or saying anything at all. Very strange - as if we were an inconvenience. It's worth noting that if you're not comfortable on a scooter you'll be dependent on a taxi whenever you want to go anywhere as the place is far from anything and the road is narrow and very bumpy through the jungle.

It has a very beautiful ocean view and great amenities.

Absolutely Incredible view! Beautiful 12 room property owned by a charming, friendly, funny Dutch man called Christian. He designed and built the place himself (I’ve seen the photos) with help from the locals, including the superb, large, 3m deep pool complete with coloured rotating lights at night creating a lovely scene (not tacky at all). Lovely and quiet, away from the hustle of Lembongan but only minutes from restaurants such as Sea Breeze (6 mins bike away). Very comfy pool loungers, and a little cooler than the other side of the island which is lovely. He even built the stone and concrete road leading up to the property himself. The rooms are great with everything you need, comfortable beds, high ceilings, working Aircon, fridges in the rooms, toilet douches, amazing views, some bathrooms half outside which is cool (raised up toilets so you can enjoy the view - a little tricky to get onto them but worth it). Balcony’s, nice furniture, pool towels, family rooms up and down in same room or one room above the other. They will order food for you, organise snorkelling trips etc. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The way in from the main road is very steep and windy, starts off with tarmac and gets progressively more rough as it goes in becoming a very rocky dirt track until you get to the one her built. This is not his fault and he tells me the local people are going to improve it.

The property was very well maintained and any issue we had was fixed quickly with a big smile from Angga or Wayan

Half of the driveway from the main road was quite bumpy, but expected as the property is a stand alone property on the Penida side of Ceningan.
