The windows in the room are very thin, which allows the sound of prayer at 5 am to penetrate, and it is so cold that I had to ask for a heater (the owner of the place knows about the complaint about the cold and asked for extra money for the heater). Also, the wifi is weak and the blanket is covered with a sheet, which gives an uncomfortable feeling of who and how many have slept under this blanket before. Beyond that, the view is amazing and the meals are good.

I loved the antique decor and the location was about 20min from town walking. The staff was so kind and allowed us to pay the next day and leave our bags for several hours. The room was clean and very spacious. The best was the fresh flowers picked and placed in the vase from the grounds.

Wish it was a little bit closer to the town center, but a tuk tuk cand always be arranged for you.

This was a beautiful little place, very cute. Lots of balconies and garden area to enjoy the sunset in the evening. The staff were very kind and helpful. We stayed in the dorm room and it was a great find, very comfortable and reasonably priced. I was close to cancelling but the photos do not give the place justice, so glad I stayed!

Very good option for solo travellers, breakfast is nice and the house is in a very colonial style. Depending on the room, the views are breathtaking. 30 min walk from the center, which is pretty doable. Water and tea are always available and free.

One of the nicest stay that I experienced in Sri Lanka. Staff was very helpful, recommending some nice sites in the area. The house itself is beautifully decorated. Its a very lovely and calm place. And views are amazing!

The view was absolutely incredible! House of Leisure is beautiful inside and out. I think the room may have been the nicest one we stayed at in Lanka. It was spacious and so comfortable with cozy blankets and a soft warm rug. The wifi didn’t work in the room but we didn’t mind using the lounge upstairs. It was so cozy and comfortable! We wish we’d stayed more than one night! It’s also an easy walk to the lake and some good restaurants, plus drivers can find it easily from the train station.
