Broadcroft Hotel

The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast, and good value for money. The bar was well-stocked, cosy and really comfortable. The hotel is located in the centre of Kirkintilloch with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby but didn't explore as it was raining heavily. We stayed in the bar and then moved into the adjacent restaurant.

I was amazed when we arrived to discover the hotel does not have a lift and the bedrooms start on the second floor. It is a relatively modern building but wasn't built as a hotel. I accept I should have checked when I booked about the lift but my assumption (I know about assuming things) was it must have a lift. My wife has a problem with her knees and the stairs were a real issue - someone in wheelchair would have no chance of getting to a bedroom. It apparently has a stairlift up to the first floor but was broken on the night we stayed. In addition, our bedroom did not have a razor point, again something I would expect in any class of hotel. Below I'm asked to provide photos but the hotel's photos are pretty accurate, but can't provide a photo of their lift as it doesn't exist!

Excellent breakfast. Great value for money. Quiet location but just off the high street.

Rooms are all on second floor and there isn't a lift so be prepared to carry your bags up.
