Elegant Lake Yala Safari House

Absolutamente todo es perfecto desde que pones un pie en este hotel. Aunque quizás no sean unas instalaciones de lujo, la experiencia en este lugar sí lo es. Sus propietarios te hacen sentir bien recibidos desde el primer momento, y hacen que más que sus huéspedes seas sus invitados. Te reciben con fruta, te acompañan en su tuk-tuk todas las veces que haga falta e incluso te hacen un tour por los aledaños de su hotel para que conozcas su población y la valores con el mismo amor con el que ellos lo hacen. El hotel está justo delante del lago y pasear tranquilamente por la zona al atardecer entre búfalos de agua, vecinos en bici, pavos reales o murciélagos es una de las experiencias más bonitas que he tenido, difíciles de olvidar. Randy te explica la historia del lugar, y te hace partícipe de este proyecto turístico responsable con el entorno. Se encargó de gestionarnos el safari y nos preparó el desayuno para llevar a las 5 de la mañana con mucho mimo. Cuando le dijimos que nos sentíamos un poco enfermos y que descansaríamos toda la tarde en el hotel sin salir a cenar para recuperarnos, se encargó de traernos un tentempié a media tarde y de que tuviéramos algo de fruta cortada fresca para cenar algo ligero. Lo elegiríamos mil veces si volviéramos al lugar y lo recomendaremos siempre. Gracias por hacernos sentir tan bien!

Absolutamente nada, todo es perfecto!

Nous avons eu un accueil très chaleureux par Randy. Il est extrêmement généreux. Il nous a fait visiter son village et il est passionné. La localisation est super, près d’un grand lac. La chambre était grande et propre. N’hésitez pas à y passer votre séjour, nous avons adoré notre expérience.

Rien du tout, c’était parfait!

Domaćin i njegova obitelj su prekrasni ljudi, predivno su nas ugostili. Smještaj je iznimno čist i lijep - sve je kao na slikama. Domaćin nam je čak pripremio odličan doručak za safari i to rano u zoru. Definitivna preporuka i hvala na svemu!

Unser Gastgeber war mit Abstand der Beste unserer bisherigen Reise durch Sri Lanka! Wir bekamen einen Spaziergang und dabei sehr viele Infos zu Land und Leuten. Beeindruckend war auch das Wissen über diverse Tiere der Region. Die Unterkunft war sehr neuwertig. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse in den Garten war atemberaubend. Wir bekamen ein selbstgemachtes Frühstück, das sehr gut schmeckte und nach unserer Safari frisch für uns zubereitet wurde. Es lies keine Wünsche offen. Wir können einen Aufenthalt nur wärmstens empfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen! 🙂

We had the most wonderful stay at Elegant Lake Accommodation! The host truly made our experience unforgettable — they went above and beyond in every way. From taking us on a tour around the local area, surprising us with fresh coconuts, and sharing their knowledge, to helping us create memories we’ll treasure forever, their attentiveness was incredible. They also helped us organize a safari with seamless pickup and drop-off, where we were lucky enough to see so much wildlife, including elephants! The value here is unbeatable — not only for the comfort and hospitality, but also for the breathtaking lake views that make this place so special. Alloggio stupendo davanti ad uno dei laghi di Tissa, nella natura e nella pace più completa. Stanza enorme, curata e pulitissima, così come il bagno. Giardino oasi di pace pieno di uccelli, pappagallini e altri piccoli ospiti come scoiattoli. Valore aggiunto l'host, di un'attenzione e gentilezza disarmanti. Ama la sua terra e tutta la natura che lo circonda. Ci ha accompagnato con il suo tuk tuk in uno splendido tour dei dintorni, ricco di soste e spiegazioni molto interessanti. Abbiamo cenato in struttura e la cena è stata ottima. All'arrivo abbiamo trovato un succo e della frutta ad accoglierci. Abbiamo organizzato direttamente con lui il safari a Yala ed è stato ben organizzato. Qualità prezzo della struttura ottimo. Consigliatissimo!

L'esserci stato solo una notte: la zona e i dintorni meritano una visita indipendentemente dal safari a Yala

Randi hat einen so schönen Ort geschaffen und ist zusammen mit seiner Frau ein wundervoller Gastgeber. Direkt hinter dem Haus liegt ein See, der sich für Vogelbeobachtung eignet. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen und er hat uns gegen Abend mit seinem TukTuk herumgefahren und die Gegend gezeigt. Krokodile, Webervögelnester, Flughunde und vieles mehr. Dabei hat er es auch verstanden, die Dinge interessant zu erzählen. Von Tissa und Umgebung haben wir so einen viel besseren Eindruck erhalten, aus es ein Reiseführer vermitteln kann. Dieser Ort ist mehr als nur ein guter Ausgangspunkt für eine Safari in den yala Nationalpark!

Wir haben es nur bedauert, das wir nur eine Nacht zu Gast waren. Hätten wir geahnt wie extrem herzlich wir empfangen werden und wie schön die Umgebung ist, wir hätten mehr Zeit eingeplant.

The room with its terrace was lovely, and the wildlife on the garden was interesting to watch. The owner, Randy, was exceptionally kind, helpful and generous. He went out of his way to take us in his tuk tuk to the ATM. He also gave us a guided walk around the locality, pointing out the wildlife on the lake (including crocodiles). On one very hot afternoon he brought us fresh fruit and ice cream! He was informative and very friendly.

La habitación y la zona son excelentes, pero lo que realmente marca la diferencia es la atención y disponibilidad de Randy. Siempre dispuesto a ayudar, organiza un tour fantástico por la zona en su tuk-tuk, ofrecen desayunos y comidas deliciosas y muchos detalles más. Sin duda, merece la pena quedarse un par de días para disfrutar plenamente de todo lo que ofrece, además del recomendable safari en el Parque Nacional de Yala.

We chose to book this place because of the amazing reviews about Randy and his family — and after just one night there, I can confidently say that every single comment was 100% true. From the moment you arrive, Randy makes you feel incredibly welcome. He's a fantastic ambassador for both his town and Sri Lanka as a whole. He'll happily show you around, share fascinating insights about the local culture and nature, and help you arrange anything you need — from safaris and tuk-tuk rides to lunch. I can't recommend staying with Randy and his lovely family enough. It was definitely one of the best experiences of our trip to Sri Lanka.
