The Hope and Anchor Pub

Mattress was collapsed and needed replacing Included continental breakfast had no choice. Chef’s granola or nothing & toast.

Great location. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. The food was delicious.

Unfortunately we did not get the message to tell us the pub stopped serving meals at 5 on Sunday or that there was no proper breakfast on Monday. Good side we got a better room with a view over the estuary and when requested was given yogurt and bread for breakfast the next day. The view over the the estuary was great.

Had to ask for extra items for breakfast. At first we had 2 very small enriched rolls, some muesli, 2 orange juices, 6 pots of jam/ honey, great coffee machine and a very limited amount of milk. When requested they provided yogurt some fruit and some bread and butter to go with all the jams etc. Also found fab place in nearby village selling amazing haddock and chips! Sorry that was a really good point!

The atmosphere...the little touches ....the friendly staff. Best of all the food and wine. It is first class with a very original presentation style - I loved it.

The room was a bit cold
