Boat Country Inn and Restaurant

Very central for the Highlands. Great for outdoor activities cycle shop next to the hotel where you can hire bikes. The steam 🚂 stops at the railway station next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful food very good.

The stairs to the rooms were not perfect for people that have walking disabilities but I managed with care and the hotel staff managed to put us in a room close to the first flight of stairs.

We stayed one night as a stopover on a longer trip and it was perfect for what we needed. Dinner was absolutely delicious and breakfast too. The staff were all very friendly including with our kids. The hotel building and decor also has a lot of charm.

The shower pressure was really low.

A very pleasant country style hotel with lovely staff, with one important exception- the receptionist who greeted us on arrival.

Our first night in Scotland. Despite booking over 5 months ago, we were given the very worst room in the hotel- overlooking the garbage bins. See picture. Gobsmackingly bad. It was truly awful. Also, our reception was not friendly- the person who checked us in was very dismissive of us as we had booked through bookings.com . It is a pity because most of the staff were lovely.

Personnel au top: très gentil et efficace, nourriture excellente, bon petit déjeuner.

Essere rimasta solo una notte.

La struttura era sporchissima, la moquette, sia nelle aree comuni che in camera, sembrava non essere mai stata pulita. Non è presente ascensore e ci sono 2 piani con delle rampe di scale molto lunghe. Camera e bagno non erano adeguatamente puliti (polvere ovunque, presenza di muffa sugli infissi e intorno ai sanitari, doccia inclusa). Non era possibile in nessun modo oscurare le finestre poiché le tendine scorrevoli (sudice) facevano passare completamente la luce: di conseguenza ci siamo svegliati all'alba.

The staff were exceptional. Our dog was made very welcome. The room and en suite was super.

Staff were lovely and the hotel is very well positioned for all the local attractions.

For the price we paid to have a suite, the room was in desperate need of an up date - the curtains were torn, the carpet needed replacing and we had to get the sink unblocked and the shower descaled for any decent amount of water. The rooms are not serviced during the stay beyond bins being emptied and coffee etc. being refilled.
