Hotel Gut Kramerhof

We loved our stay here! We stayed here for one night while running around the Kaiser Crown trail and the property was so cute and room was very comfortable. Breakfast was great and walking around the property to see the horses and goats was fun.

We had a wonderful time in Kramerhof Hotel with my family, the staff of the Hotel was kind and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast and dinner was perfect with local products. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to families.

More than a hotel - a working organic farm and also a family-oriented recreation/vacation spot. Tons of activities for families with kids - horseback riding lessons, a shed full of big wheels/go carts/bikes, playground, feeding farm animals for kids. They have a tennis court and racquets, hiking poles for adults (also horseback riding for those who know how to ride). Staff provided local hiking maps and guidance on routes. They have a drying room (trockenraum) downstairs which is essential for hikers or winter sports participants. Not luxe/modern but showcasing local culture in very nice way. Restaurant was good and breakfast very good - a variety of high-end locally produced cheeses and meats. As a celiac, I especially appreciated the attention to detail in ensuring I had good options for gluten-free food. The waiter knew ingredients in the dinner menu and quickly suggested substitutions to make my meal GF (e.g. potatoes instead of kroketten, and ensured the meat sauce did not have wheat flour). At breakfast, they had already noted I was GF from my reservation (let them know in advance) & brought out an assortment of individually-wrapped/labelled GF rolls/buns and an individual sealed packet of GF muesli (!!!) Not having to explain what GF means and being given a variety of options that were certified GF was really nice. If you're GF you should tell them in advance. Staff are all very warm and friendly. Super quiet. I could not hear anything in my room. Room was comfortable warm even though early Oct temperatures were 40-45 F. Super comfortable mattress and high quality sheets/warm puffy blanket. I stayed at the hotel since I was hiking the Kaiserkrone hiking route & paid a bit extra for the balcony suite (101) - I cannot tell you how happy I was at the end of a 10 hour day hiking mostly in the cold & rain, and staying in huttes, to find my room had a bathtub and hot water.

If you're hiking in it's about 2 km from the Kaiserkrone trailhead - you can catch a bus from Grissenau, but I was really confused by the information at the trail head (a lot of information there, but not so helpful for people trying to find walking directions to Gasteig). Probably would have been easier if it was not pouring rain. Gasteig is a small village, if you're not hiking in you probably need a car.

Loved this place, perfect for families, beautiful setting, food was great. It was a really good value with all the food. We stayed here two nights while hiking the Emperors Crown trail, perfect place for rest day. If I lived in Austria I would come to this place a couple times a year to mountain bike, hike and eat a lot. One of the staff even picked us up when we came off the trail (gas station called hotel). It was unexpected and we were grateful.

We liked everything, one of our favorite stays in Europe.
