Beautiful place, super peaceful. Amazing massages, delicious breakfast, and great activities. Not far from Tarapoto—and much much better than being in Tarapoto.

Not for everybody: this is definitely not a luxury resort (also not a bad thing!). Inform yourselves before leaving :)

It was stunningly beautiful. Had great access to the river and a charming town, architecture was harmonious with nature, great food, a nice place to lounge and súper services like yoga and massages.

An amazingly quiet getaway with comforts rarely found while travelling in the Amazon. I cannot emphasis enough how surprised i was to have a hot shower with a window view of the jungle. Gorgeous structures, lighting and landscaping. Comfy furnishings and thoughtful design. I loved the in-suite composting toilet too. River swimming access and soundscape were amazing bonuses. I had wonderfully restful sleeps. San Roque de Cumbaza is a tiny town with friendly people and a refreshingly cool climate compared to Tarapoto.

As like most ecolodge or healing retreat facilities, this was not very accessible for people with mobility challenges. And accessing food beyond the pre-order vegetarian predefined meal plan is difficult. And dispite the fact that this search result came up when seeking a place to stay near Lamas, this was in a opposite direction relative to Tarapoto, making my intended tourism to Lamas and cascada Chapawanki challenging. I would recommend doing local tourism from a different place, then come here for a few nights for fully dedicated relaxation time.

The location was amazing.

On the first night, we ordered a dinner from their to order menu, since they don't have a restaurant. When we got to the hotel, we were surprised to find out that our dinner had been eaten. It was mistake from other costumers. The staff promptly improvised and cooked us a simple dinner but not the one we ordered. Our surprise came when we paid the bill for the stay where we saw that we were being charged the full price of the dinner (5$). We were very dissapointed because we paid for a service we did not get as it was stated.

What a wonderful place in a jungle away from the noise. The lodge has a yoga studio, a working area, great kitchen facilities and cozy rooms. The approach of the owners, Claudia and Javier, is to live in harmony with the nature and this principle is followed at the facilities. Multiple breakfast options to choose from - all delicious and filling. It even has private access to a river.

One has to take a mototaxi to get to Tarapoto (costs approx. 30 soles)
