Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa

Very comfortable and welcoming.

Didn’t use the swimming pool because we had limited time which meant it would have cost £20 just for one swim. So that was disappointing.

Very elegant. Good spa. Clean. Most things worked! Most staff friendly and very helpful.

Nothing we did not like. Met someone rather grumpy at breakfast on the Wednesday, but she did not represent the general staff who were great.

google assistant in the rooms to replace the room telephones. extra fees to pay to use spa facilities.

I thought the "Cosy King Room" was tired and felt very unloved. The corridor to our room also needs a massive upgrade along with the lift which I thought was the service lift but was actually the main lift to our room! Small point, but the lightbulb in the bathroom hadn't been changed which made the bathroom very dark and along with the tea/coffee/milk etc, which over a 3 day stay hadn't been replenished was very annoying, particularly in a 5* hotel! We had planned to eat in the restaurant but realising that a steak was £55 plus extra for side dishes we gave it a miss! The champagne bar lacked atmosphere and was quite cold. The electric charger didn't work - just as well as it was stupidly expensive. Overall a very underwhelming stay!

The property was extremely cold and the staff wouldnt turn the heating on for the guests.

The Spar was great and the staff overall were very friendly and attentive.

I thought the overall price was too high, the cost of the food and drinks were ridiculous and the quality of food was average at best

Good location, pleasant rooms

Food very expensive for what it is. Dirty towel in room and when given to reception on checkout were quite dismissive. Gym is very poor.
